BIO Testifies to House Agriculture Subcommittee on the Next Farm Bill

BIO President & CEO Jim Greenwood testified in front of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit at a hearing titled, The Next Farm Bill: Examining Rural Development & Energy Programs.
BIO supports public policies – including government funding for key agencies and programs – to unleash scientific innovation and grow the bioeconomy. BIO urged the subcommittee to ensure the Farm Bill energy title can unleash the potential growth of the bioeconomy, which can create tens of thousands of more jobs in rural America and promote billions of dollars of additional economic activity.
In the testimony, BIO discussed the need to revitalize rural economies and the value of the bio-based economy, and made recommendations for the next Farm Bill.
